The Sixth Love Language: Creation.

There are essentially five recognized love languages in this world: words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, receiving gifts, and physical touch. To me, there’s a sixth: creation.

Creating art, in any form, demands patience, attention, and reflection. It requires forming a thought, working through that thought, and then committing to that thought and bringing it to life. Whether the piece be small or expansive, the act of creating is fostered through intention.

Over the years, art has become my sixth love language; it has become the way I show my appreciation for the people that I care about the most. For a memorable teacher’s final day, my friend’s birthday, or my parents’ anniversary, I often resort to artwork. Not because art is expected from me, but because it feels honest and true. Through art, I give these people my attention, my time, and my appreciation; things that words alone cannot capture.

I don’t create such artwork solely because I enjoy the process, though I do. I create because it allows me to translate love into something tangible. Each detail and concept is shaped by the person it’s meant for. In that sense, artwork becomes more than a keepsake; it becomes a language of love.
